The Belmond City Council on Monday discussed possible legislative changes to the state’s property tax system, and how that could impact the City’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget plans.

Lawmakers have recently tried to reform property taxes, merging levies in 2023 and proposing an overhaul of Iowa's system in 2025.
