The Rowan City Council on Monday, Feb.2  approved appointing Mark Burns as the Rowan Fire Department Chief.

Fire Board President Mark Pluff presented the Council with the fire department annual report.

Pluff reported that 2025 was a busy year for the fire department.

He said two trucks were upgraded for $28,000 and $20,000, which he called a bargain for much newer and more dependable trucks.
