Melbourne “Mel” R. Sampson of Eagle Grove passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at his home. Richard Lukens Lindvall, of Clarion, died on May 30, 2026, in his residency at The Meadows Senior Living. Throughout his 91 years, Rich touched many lives with his quick-witted humor, wisdom, and love for his beloved family.

Judy DeNio Wachowiak, 72, of Clear Lake, formerly of Dows, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 30, 2026, after a short illness at the University of Iowa Hospital.

LaVere “Whip” Whipple, 85, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A Celebration of Life was held 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. A lifelong Iowan, Whip was born on October 23, 1940, in a farmhouse near Hampton to Lyle and Angie Whipple.

Vicki L. Whitty, 74, of Belmond, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8 at St. John's Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue Northeast in Clarion. Burial was in the Galt Cemetery.

Ian Michael Anderson, age 30, a graduate of Belmond-Klemme Schools and United States Army Veteran and National Guard, passed away April 26, 2026. A public visitation has been scheduled for June 28, at the Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, 1-3 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Belmond. David Cellan, 63, of Owasa, Iowa passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23, 10 a.m.-12 noon at Adams Celebration of Life, Owasa. Thomas James Daily, 65, of Belmond, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 31, 2026, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City following a courageous battle with health issues.

Joe (Joie) Ray Skinner was born January 27, 1931, in Goldfield, IA, to Roland W. and Nellie E. (Hinton) Skinner. He graduated from Goldfield High School with the “Class of 1948”.He attended Electronics, Radio and Television School in Omaha, and worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company, Wichita, Kansas in 1949.Joe proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, U.S.
