A lifelong Iowan, Whip was born on October 23, 1940, in a farmhouse near Hampton to Lyle and Angie Whipple.

Ian Michael Anderson, age 30, a graduate of Belmond-Klemme Schools and United States Army Veteran and National Guard, passed away April 26, 2026. A public visitation has been scheduled for June 28, at the Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, 1-3 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Belmond. David Cellan, 63, of Owasa, Iowa passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23, 10 a.m.-12 noon at Adams Celebration of Life, Owasa. Graveside service took place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion at 2 p.m. With honor, Adams Celebration of Life is serving the family.

He graduated from Goldfield High School with the “Class of 1948”.He attended Electronics, Radio and Television School in Omaha, and worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company, Wichita, Kansas in 1949.Joe proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, U.S.
